I am really keen to get a job during the weekends and after school hours, so I can start earning my own money to spend and start saving for when I am older. Do you have any tips on where to look (ie useful websites), and how to write a CV? It's all a bit overwelming, so advice will be really appreciated! :)
Firstly, way to go looking for a job on the weekends! You've already completed the first step by taking the initiative and making the decision.
Writing a CV is important because it's a quick way for people to get an impression of you; so be yourself and authentic.
When you write your CV, make it clear and simple and write things that showcase your experience or qualities, such as if you have been on a club, committee or sports team at school.
You could check out websites like TradeMe, Student Job Search (they have a Facebook page, too). Or if you know that you want to work in a shop, or cafe, the best option is to take them your CV and introduce yourself! Be relaxed and authentic in this meeting. Being warm, open and present with your energy is inviting!
Lastly, do what you can to trust life. What I mean is, if you don't land a job immeditately, it's ok. Be patient, stay committed and try to relax (aka don't get despondent or anxious). This is a great oppportunity to learn and grow, not just to make some money!
All the best and let us know how you get on! xx
